OSI Group occupies the enviable position of being the global leader when it comes to the supplies of processed value-added food products especially proteins. The company has over the years specialized in customized manufacture and processing of various foods that meet the unique demands of their global clientele base. The company has operations in several continents beyond the United States in North America it was founded. OSI Group has operations in Asia where it has over 20 years of operations in China. Moreover, the company has increased its presence in Europe with strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Much of these progresses owe to the strategic and visionary leadership of David McDonald; the current president and chief operations officer who also owns OSI Group. He also serves on the board of the company.
Consolidating OSI Group’s Global Presence
One of the strategic plans that David McDonald has excelled at implementing is a localized global presence. In addition to expanding operations in China and other Asian countries, OSI Group has also expanded operations in Australia, Europe, Canada and the U.S. The acquisition of Baho Foods, Hynek Schlachthof GmbH and Flagship Europe added to the growing expansion of OSI Group’s presence in other European countries such as Poland, Austria and the United Kingdom. This has been enhanced by various partnerships in Germany and the UK. The management teams of these entities have been localized to ensure that they reflect the cultural identity of their locations. Such expansion strategies have already paid dividends across various regions including China where OSI Group won the contract to supply food during the Olympic Games in Beijing and to the various global fast food outlets in China.
